Atlanta, Georgia, November 30, 2006 - TaskStream, 'Advancing Educational Excellence' (www.taskstream.com) announced today that the States' Career Clusters (www.careerclusters.org) has approved their Web-based tools for demonstrating learning achievement to facilitate a turn key, Web-based infrastructure for the competency-based career pathways or programs of study. The announcement was made today at the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ACTE) here in Atlanta.
Career Clusters link what students learn in school with the knowledge and skills they need for success in college and careers. They identify pathways from secondary school to two- and four-year colleges, graduate school, and the workplace, so students can learn in school what they can do in the future. This connection to future goals motivates students to work harder and enroll in more rigorous courses. "Research evidence indicates that connecting what students learn to an area of interest contributes to improved academic achievement, student engagement and seamless transition to postsecondary education and careers. TaskStream is a resource to help students, educators, counselors and employers make these connections," stated Pam Kirk the Director of the States' Career Clusters Initiative.
The TaskStream tools are successfully being used in colleges, universities and secondary schools throughout the country to demonstrate individual and programmatic success for the demonstration of learning achievement and competency-based assessment. "The availability of these tools to provide an affordable infrastructure for various States' Career Clusters programs will be invaluable in scaling state programs and showcasing success through career skills, placement and achievement," said Kevin Doyle the President & CEO of TaskStream. "We look forward to supporting the success of States' Career Cluster initiatives with our reliable and intuitive tools and the highest level of supporting services."
